FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about training, prices, your rights and safety.
Getting started
Which program should I start with?
Strong & Steady includes two sessions a week. Foundations fits when one session a week suits your schedule better. The free 30-minute call is a chance to discuss this without pressure.
I've never lifted weights. Is this for me?
Yes. We start with screening and a Fitness Baseline, then adapt progressions to your starting point.
What do I need to buy?
We train in your building's gym, at home with your body weight and what you already have (a sturdy chair, a counter, grocery bags), or at your own gym where its rules allow. If you'd like to buy equipment, I'll suggest a short, affordable list, with no obligation.
Safety & health
Will my insurance reimburse the sessions?
Probably not. I am a personal trainer and lifestyle coach, not a kinesiologist or physiotherapist. Some employer wellness spending accounts may cover personal training; health-spending accounts usually do not. Check with your plan.
I have osteoporosis or arthritis. Can I train?
It depends on screening and, where needed, clearance from your doctor. I offer adapted progressions, not diagnosis or treatment. When a situation calls for a health professional, I refer you to your doctor, a physiotherapist, or a registered dietitian (ODNQ).
In-home & condo gyms
Can you train me in my building's gym?
We train in your building's gym, at home with your body weight and what you already have (a sturdy chair, a counter, grocery bags), or at your own gym where its rules allow. If you'd like to buy equipment, I'll suggest a short, affordable list, with no obligation.
What does my building need?
We check access, schedules and outside-trainer rules before signing. Proof of insurance may be requested.
Can I train with a neighbour?
Yes, through Building Circle. Duo: $1,800 per person; trio: $1,500 per person for 12 weeks. Each person signs their own contract and receives individual support.
Can you train me at my own gym?
Already a gym member? I can train you there, if your gym allows outside trainers and it's in my service area. The program price is the same as at home or in your building's gym. If your gym charges me an access fee (a day pass or outside-trainer fee), I pay it: nothing is added to your price. Your membership stays yours, as it is today. Before you sign, we get your gym's OK in writing.
Online
What's the difference between online and in person?
The method is the same; the support differs. In person, I am beside you. Online, you follow your app program with form-video feedback; Strong & Steady Online includes a weekly video session.
What if I travel?
Strong & Steady and The Private Rebuild sessions can continue by live video at the same time. We plan around your travel together.
How is online coaching different from an app?
You get a personalized program, check-ins and human feedback on your form videos. Strong & Steady Online adds a weekly live-video session.
Pricing & payments
When am I charged? Can I pay everything upfront?
As Québec law requires, never before your first session and with no deposit. Coaching programs use equal payments every 4 weeks. There is no pay-in-full option. Your card is saved at signing. Nothing is charged. Your bank may briefly show a card check of $0 or about $1, which is cancelled automatically. The price doesn't depend on how you pay.
Why this price rather than a gym session?
You are buying a program, not just an hour: sessions, assessments, check-ins and habit coaching. Strong & Steady works out to about $125 per session.
What currency do I pay in?
It depends on where you live. If you live in Canada, online programs are in Canadian dollars: Foundations Online is CA$750 and Strong & Steady Online is CA$1,350. If you live outside Canada, they have fixed US-dollar prices: Foundations Online is US$750 (3 payments of US$250) and Strong & Steady Online is US$1,350 (3 payments of US$450). All other programs, in person or online, are in Canadian dollars, wherever you live. The price shown is the total you pay. Your bank may add its own fees.
Cancellation & your rights
Can I cancel? What does it cost?
Yes, any time. Before your first session it costs nothing. Afterwards, only services already delivered at your contract rate are owed. I waive the cancellation penalty the law allows. Use the Cancel my program button, the contract form or written notice. Refunds are issued within 10 days.
What if it doesn't work for me?
The Fit Guarantee refunds payments if you stop within 7 days of your first session, or 14 days for The Private Rebuild. Results promises concern strength, function and habits, never weight; conditions are specified in the contract.
What happens if I miss a session?
With at least 24 hours' notice, the session is rescheduled within the same 4-week period. Illness or a medical reason notified any time before the session: it is rescheduled, never forfeited. Otherwise, a late cancellation or no-show counts as a delivered session. You also get one life-happens pass every 12 weeks.
Nutrition & habits
Can you give me a meal plan?
Yes, if you're in good health. After a short health questionnaire, I can set calorie and protein targets and build a simple meal plan around your tastes and your training. If you have a health condition where food is part of the treatment, that plan belongs with a dietitian-nutritionist (ODNQ) or your doctor; I'll refer you and keep coaching your training.
I have diabetes (or another health condition). Can you still help me with food?
Yes, within limits. I don't design or change diets for health conditions. I can help you shop, cook and batch-prep in line with the plan your dietitian-nutritionist or doctor gives you, and I'll keep coaching your training. To find a dietitian-nutritionist, use the ODNQ directory (odnq.org).
Are you a nutritionist?
No. In Québec, "nutritionist" and "dietitian" are titles reserved for members of the Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec. I'm a personal trainer and lifestyle coach with training in nutrition for healthy adults.
